Vital Rain Studios LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates Nyla: Shared Family Organizer (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign up via an invitation, we also collect the invite code used.

Family Data: You may provide information about your family members, including children's names, ages, schools, allergies, and medical information. This data is stored to provide the core family coordination features.

Calendar and Schedule Data: Events, routines, calendar blocks, locations, driver assignments, and related scheduling information you create within the App.

Location Data: If you grant permission, we collect location data to enable features such as geofencing-based status updates (En Route, Arrived), saved family locations, and location-based event suggestions. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.

Usage Data: We may collect information about how you use the App, including features accessed, interactions with the AI assistant (Pip), and app performance data.

Voice Data: If you use Pip's voice feature, your voice input is processed for speech-to-text conversion. We do not store voice recordings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App's family coordination features
• Enable calendar scheduling, task management, and village coordination
• Power the Pip AI assistant with relevant family context to provide helpful responses
• Send notifications about schedule changes, reminders, and status updates
• Process subscription payments through Apple's in-app purchase system
• Provide customer assistance

3. How We Share Your Information

Within Your Village: Family data is shared with members of your household and village according to the access permissions you set. Helpers and caregivers only see information relevant to their role.

Service Providers: We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase: Database and authentication (data stored securely in the cloud)
• OpenAI: Powers the Pip AI assistant
• Mapbox: Location search and geocoding
• Apple: In-app purchase processing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.

4. Children's Privacy

Nyla allows parents to create child profiles and child accounts. Child accounts have restricted access and can only see age-appropriate content assigned by their parents. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. All child data is created and managed by the parent account holder.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies in our database, and secure authentication. Your data is stored on servers located in the United States.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@nyla.co. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and download your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and data
• Revoke location and notification permissions at any time
• Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
